After the frustration of not being able to find any bandmates who shared his vision, in early 2009, Arjun Gill officially created Premonition. The song-writing process had already been in motion since mid 2008. Some of the influences involved in the writing included bands like Soul Embraced, Death, Carcass, Pig Destroyer, Parkway Drive, Testament and Phobia.
Premonition started writing and recording immediately and was finished with a demo in March 2009. After a few weeks of sending the demo out to labels, Premonition was picked up by Salute Records who signed Premonition and supported the debut album "The Plague of Ignorance" which was released on September 25th, 2009. Many of the song meanings on "The Plague of Ignorance" had to do with an atheistic view on religion. Due to school, Premonition moves back and forth between Saudi Arabia and Canada which helps spread the music worldwide.
After the release of "The Plague of Ignorance," Premonition worked hard to promote the music as much as possible and managed to work out a few more deals with labels to distribute the album. Now that the album is selling, Premonition is looking towards the future and has begun to write new material. Recently, in March, Arjun Gill was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, essentially cancer in the ribs, and is now recieving treatment in Houston, Texas. Premonition is continuing to write music for the upcoming album "Suicide Civilization" which will be faster, heavier, angrier, and darker.
