What do you guys use to help prevent string squeak, apart from playing technique, when sliding between chords, etc...

What String Lube, WD40, rubber gloves, woolen gloves, what?

Not the best example of it below, but the kind of thing I am talking about happens around 17-18 seconds.

Thanks for any advice/comment.

EDIT: File is hosted on keepmyfile. I haven't had any issues with their hosting. Internet explorer warns/blocks a popup, but that popup is the actual file that is to be downloaded.

I think it's the playing tecnique...I have the same problem man.
Unfortunally string lube does nothing (advice: don't use strings product). Repeat the part, repeat, repeat, repeat until it sounds good.
Look at Evergrey studio diary...they repeat a 40seconds riff for 3 hours....so, we are all in the same boat :D

P.s.
I put a piece of foam under the string in the neck

String Squeak is cool effect in my opinion.

+1
more dynamic, haha :hypno:
if it's not every two seconds or so and becomes annoying...
feeld more authentic.
I edit them out on places where there are two distracting, eg. brakes and stuff... but only if I've given up on playing the riff correctly or if I didn't realize while tracking and have to deal with it afterwards.

I find that noise is a huge problem when I play the intro riff to Arch Enemies Dead inside. WHen I tried to demo the song the only thing that helped was learning to lift my fingers right off the strings when I changed chords. I got it in the end, but you have to really think about it and get use to it before recording.

Yeah, I've had to get in the habit of lifting while changing chords as well; maddening, but the ends justify the means, and if I ever need motivation, I listen to the section starting at 4:37 in Opeth's "Windowpane" - jesus christ, every time I hear those "whicks," it gets my twitch going.

 Guess the line that's making me giggle like a school girl.

I play and record a lot of acoustic stuff. If you listen to this clip you will hear a ton of squeek at :38. What I am wondering is, is there a way to cancel out the frequencies since i don;t want to re-take the part? Or am I just gonn have to re-record it?

Acoustic Clip

GuitarHack - You got it. Actually it was just the first part of that but yeah, the whole thing makes me giggle.
