SwordLord Productions & Station 4 proudly announce the resurrection of MINNESOTA METALFEST, the new premiere festival for heavy metal acts in Minnesota. This year’s festival will take place on Labor Day – Monday, September 7 at the Station 4 nightclub in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. Station 4 is the premiere club for heavy metal acts in the state, booking more metal acts per capita than any other venue in Minnesota.

“Minnesota MetalFest has existed in many forms prior to this,” explains Nathan “The SwordLord” Block, CEO of SwordLord Productions. “But this year’s festival will be the start of something truly one-of-a-kind for Minnesota. This will become the premiere metal showcase for bands of all genres from all corners of the world. Keep an eye on this because it’s only going to get better and better each year!”

This year’s headliner is Germany’s high voltage power-house PRIMAL FEAR. Their appearance at Minnesota MetalFest will kick off a very exclusive and limited North American tour which is comprised of only 6 US appearances.

“We are very excited and honored to have PRIMAL FEAR headlining this year’s festival!” says Block. “This will be the first time the band has ever set foot in Minnesota and we are proud to bring them here. This will be an aspect of Minnesota MetalFest that fans can look forward to every year – seeing bands that have either never been to this state before or ones that have not been here in some time.”

Co-headlining the festival will be ATHEIST - Florida’s melodic death metal act which is a proud jewel in America’s metal crown. Their second album released in 1991, Unquestionable Presence, has been acclaimed by fans and critics alike as one of the most influential technical death metal albums of all time.

Rounding out the headliners are Chicago’s doom masters NOVEMBERS DOOM and DESTROY DESTROY DESTROY, a metal band combining elements of death and Viking metal with traditional 80’s thrash.

More bands will be announced soon via the festival’s website (www.MinnesotaMetalFest.com) and MySpace page (www.MySpace.com/MinnesotaMetalFest).

Tickets for Minnesota MetalFest are available via TicketMaster and are $35 in advance or $40 day of show. The show is 16+. Doors will open at 2:00pm, music will start at 2:30pm and run until midnight.

Station 4 can be found online at www.Station-4.com. The SwordLord can be found at www.MySpace.com/SwordLord.

This is going to be a blast. The last time Novembers Doom played in Minnesota, it was the most rare ND show ever, and the only show I missed in 20 years. Larry filled in on vocal duties for me, as I was VERY ill. I've wanted to get back to Minnesota since then, and put on a proper show (Even though I saw the video, and Larry did a killer job!)

We're really looking forward to this one!

We are looking forward to having you guys on this bill!! This is going to be a great show and the addition of your band has made me really happy. I was really bummed that you guys had to drop off the Rotting Christ tour in January - many people missed you.

Welcome aboard and we will see you in September!

POWER MOTHER FUCKIN' QUEST brother!!!
Make it happen. You know you want to!

I know OMEN are looking to do some US shows this year as well.
Not sure if you are into them or not.

I would LOVE to come to this.
Might be a last minute thing for me, as I would have to sell being away on a holiday to my wife.
We'll see.

Good job tho. This is off to a killer start!

Now I'm looking forward to this, unfortunately my buddies bailed on me for Chicago Powerfest, and driving out there alone for just the show, yucky, :/ hope you guys can understand. I will see you here for sure though seeing as it is in my backyard.
Do me a favor? Steal the show and blow the crowd away ;)

JASONIC – thank you so much brother! Power Quest – total LOL of course you know I want too but it’s not in the budget right now unless they were willing to fly to the US early ... here’s to hoping! At any rate, thanks for all the support and I would love it if you could make the fest, keep me posted.

LAMERS5150 – thanks for the support, I look forward to seeing you at this incredible show! Be sure you introduce yourself to me at the show, don’t worry, I’ll be unmistakable.

BALANCE OF POWER – and guess who’ll be right next to you! My hair will be going around so fast, I’ll take off!

Swordlord, I've talked to you a bunch of times at several shows, I just don't think we were every formally introduced.
Idk if you remember, but i was in the group after the last Into Eternity headlining show that was going to catch the train to seattle for Carcass... You told us about how you tried to get Carcass but they were asking too much, or more recently, I talked to you at the 2nd show for the battle for paganfest, you gave me a bunch of free Warbringer tickets for my friends and I... at any rate, I'll be sure to actually introduce myself one of these times. with all the shows I go to, i probaly see you more than some of my family members. lol
