Nice interview. Glad to hear they had such a good time here. The interview does kind of make me wonder what they did (that Vanden Plas didn't) that enabled them to get through customs security. Perhaps because they had passports that showed they had been to the US before?

They just got the customs agent(s) that didn't get any the night before and were a bit cranky.

I seriously wanna collect a petition of everyone who was furious they missed them cuz of this farce, go to Detroit Metro Airport, and slap* it across the director of immigration, and tell him what a dirty hippy party pooper he is.

There's probably some reasons that haven't been made public as to why VP couldn't stay in the country. I seriously doubt that an asshole agent was fully to blame. I'd hold off on the hate mail and stuff like that, because it's doubtful all of the facts were layed out in regards to VP's situation.

This is definitely not the first time that there have been visa issues with foreign bands though. If you guys recall, this was even a problem with Dragonforce who couldn't enter the US in 2005. Satyricon has had this issue since 2004 with Frost (which supposedly is now corrected) and Emperor also had this issue in 2006 and it was corrected in 2007.

Actually, the Emperor situation was a delay in approving Samoth's visa request because of a prior conviction and jail sentence. He DID get the work permit approved......a week after Emperor came home from the US.
