Primordial's discography

Album ranking:

A Journey's End
Spirit the Earth Aflame
The Gathering Wilderness (still growing on me every time I hear it)
Imrama
Storm Before Calm (i never listen to this one edit: except i just put it on now thanks to this thread)
Dark Romanticism (or this one)

As far as Gods to the Godless, its still my least fav. off STEA. The one-two-three punch of The Soul Must Sleep, Burning Season and Glorious Dawn > yuo!

Spirit the Earth Aflame
A Journey's End
Imrama
Storm Before Calm
The Gathering Wilderness
Dark Romanticism

Honestly, TGW does little for me now. I prefer the black metaller Primordial over the doomier one.

I'm the opposite, I'd probably put Gathering Wilderness up top....

For me, their holy trinity is: StEA, AJE, and TGW

Put it this way, all my favoUrite Primordial songs are off those 3 albums.

Martyr's Fire and Cities Carved in Stone are my favourite tracks off TGW, but they are all pretty strong. The title track and Song of the Tomb kinda drag a little, but the last four tracks are unstoppable!

Now that I've gotten Storm Before Calm out for a listen, it doesn't sound that different from the quality level of the other releases.

I love TGW and StEA. However, I haven't spent enough time with their previous discs to have a well informed opinion.

Same here, though what I heard of the older material, I've really enjoyed so far.

Wow though, it's amazing to me how "Gods to the Godless" can be someone's least favorite song on StEA, yet love the album. It's a testament to just how good this band is if you dig their style of music.

Honestly, TGW does little for me now. I prefer the black metaller Primordial over the doomier one.

By the way, if you prefer 'black metal' Primordial, wouldn't you have Imrama and SBC above StEA and AJE? DR too for that matter.

StEA isnt doomy at all. More like a call to war.

TGW is definitely doomier. I dont mind it but it's not the one I reach for first

Just no denying StEA and AJE are the band's best, though, no matter what I prefer.
