Psion- New Project (Haken,To-Mera,Sun Caged,Our Oceans,Dodecahedron)

PSION is the new emotionally intense progressive metal project founded by guitarist/ bassist Tom MacLean (To-Mera, ex-Haken) and guitarist Nikolas Wolf (former touring member of Xerath). Having released an instrumental demo track as a two piece at the end of last year, the band has just released a new demo song featuring the vocal talents of Paul Villareal (Sun Caged) and the drum mastery of Jasper Barendregt (Dodecahedron, Our Oceans). I like muchly. I wondered what Paul was going to do after the Sun Caged split. This sounds terrific

They're on an indefinite hiatus. Apparently, the band prefers to work within the confines of a group as opposed to sharing song ideas via files and whatnot, and the members are so widely spread out these days that the dynamic in which they wish to work is just not possible. It's extremely disappointing, as they're one of my favorite prog metal bands to emerge in the past 15 years.

That said, Psion is sounding very promising. I hope this becomes more than just a "here's a new song posted online every once in a while" project.
