For a genre that is advanced in age (the Possessed album of the same name is now past 30 years old), death metal never seems to lack for fresh blood to keep its undead corpse animated and hungry. This April, a pair of them from the east coast states - Putrisect (of Baltimore, MD) and Scorched (Delaware) - will unleash a collaborative blast of putrescence for the extreme metal faithful.

"Final State Of Existence" is the appropriately morbid title of this split release. It contains three tracks from each band, doing what they do best: atmospheric, aggressive and ugly old school death metal that is not just content to recycle tired cliches of the genre, but also inserts new life and new ideas, without compromising the original vision. Each band has only a prior cassette release (demo or EP) under its belt; this split is sure to grow their respective fan bases and whet the appetite for full-lengths from them both.

With an eerie cover created by Misanthropic-Art, "Final State Of Existence" will be released on April 22nd by Edged Circle Productions (LP) and Unspeakable Axe Records (CD).
