I recently purchased a Guitar World magazine and it came with a CD. The band Pyrexia is on it with their track Wicked Rise. It's my first time hearing this group. Any of you familar with them, I liked the song I heard, how's the rest of their stuff?

Sermon of Mockery is great, and their latest, Age of the Wicked is pretty good. System of the Animal is too hardcore-ish for my tastes.
Sermon of Mockery is a solid second (maybe third) tier classic death metal album. The new one is pretty streamlined, standard modern brutal death. It doesn't stand out from the crowd much at all, and doesn't compare that closely with Sermon.

I've only heard "Age of the Wicked" and while it's not a groundbreaking album (nor does it try to be), what's good about it is the amount of energy they captured. They sound like they're about to fall off the rails at any moment, but never do. Kind of a rare thing for that style...
