Nocturnus! There's a name I haven't heard in years. Now I have to go dust off "the key" and get ready for the robot invasion. Sweet!

James (and other JCM 800 users), I'm curious as to how much extra grit you guys use from your overdrive pedals when running them with your JCM 800's? I have a JCM 800 2004 model (stock) that I occasionally run into my Mesa Recto 4X12. When I'm using it, I usually have the amp's gain set around "8" or so (making it easier to clean up with the the volume knob and pedal off), and only use a little extra push from the pedal (usually a Maxon OD-808 or BOSS SD-1), with the volume around 12 o'clock and the gain around 9 o'clock. However, our last gig had some JCM 800 users, and they ran the gain on the amp at "10," along with the volume and gain on the pedal maxed out also. After asking, it seems a lot of guys are doing things that way.

So, I'm just curious as to how much gain you guys are actually using from your pedals with the JCM 800?

I have 2204 and a modded Ibanez MS10

Amp gain = 10
OD gain = 8 o'clock
OD vol = full
