Queens Of The Stone Age

I've only heard one song of theirs (Go With the Flow), wasn'y bad stuff I suppose. It was the type of stuff I'd listen to but not rush out and buy.

I like the band. I bought a couple CD's called Eagles of Death Metal, which was guitarist/vocalist Josh Homme's side project.
-It wasn't Death Metal
-I didn't like it anyway
-I hear KYUSS is much better(before they were Queens of the Stone Age)
-I hear Desert Sessions compilations are good

Yea QOTSA are quite good, I bought "Songs for the Deaf" and I really like "Millionaire" and "First it Giveth"..they have a lot of talent, but I don't really like their pop songs like Go with the Flow...

I think they're great. I saw Josh Homme on (I think it was) Leno a couple years ago and he was fuuuuucked up.

Fucking love them, although I think things peaked with Rated R. Not to say Songs For The Deaf or Lullabies To Paralyse are bad, I just think it's generally been going down hill since the second album. Also, the S/T album is one of the most criminally underated albums i've ever come across, especially given it's pedigree.
However, all that said, Kyuss have ruined QOTSA for me as they are simply so good, even the various products of the various members of Kyuss (QOTSA, Slo Burn and Unida in particular, as well as Fu Manchu [less dependant on Kyuss] and Hermano [just not quite as good]) are at the very least all worth a listen. Kyuss invented stoner rock in its modern form, and are one of those bands that sound like an intense drug trip, regardless of whether you're fucked up or stone cold sober.

There good bar music esp. the song "Feel Good Hit Of The Summer"
but imho they pale in comparison to Josh's old band Kyuss Blues For
A Red Sun is stoner rock at it's finest along with Monster Magnet's
Superjudge.

yeah, awesome band but pale in comparison to the almighty Kyuss!

due largely to the inclusion of the indomitable talents of John Garcia, Brant Bjork, Nick Oliveri, and a few others. these guys are great musicians whose other work deserves more attention!
