Question about grills

Hey Ken, since you are one of the most knowledgeable bbq experts here, I have a question for you.

On a recent trip I took to Guadalajara, I went into a store and fell in love with a wine wooden barrel bbq grill..

a) do you know where to get them
b) do they work?

I would love to get my hands on one of those, or even build one myself.

Anyways, hope you can chime on this

Never seen anything like it and frankly it seems wildly impractical. I would incinerate it the first time I used it.
