Played the "Low" CD yesterday for the first time in a while, and I just thought I'd ask if in this song, you and Eric had any kinda script with the little vocal bits in the song or not?

Was gonna try and transcribe what I hear when I listen to it for a laugh.

Also in regards to the track "PC" right at the very end - curious as to who the spoken voices are, and what they're saying?

From this one some of the lines are audible: "And they lobbed up in a battle about 3 in the mornin", "Shit man", "Yeah" etc.

THANKS in advance kind Sir - Hope all is well with ya :kickass:

we were copying quotes from a japanese Anime flick of the same name as the song with futuristic evil nazis in it... so it's in Japanese and German.

i said the german bit and it was: "Mein Gott, Astorah-Odin, Stieg der ab, jetzt!" which translates in english to, "My God, Astorah-Odin, descend now!" i lived in germany for 6 years and learned a decent amount of german there, so mine was fairly accurate. Eric did his phonetically, so i'm not sure of it's accuracy and can't even remember what it was anyway.

the bit at the end of PC was our old buddy John, known affectionately to us as "driftwood"... this was a rant that was secretly recorded of him talking at studio D in Sausalito where we did overdubs... i had a rented houseboat during that session, right on a peer near the studio and Chuck and driftwood came up and stayed one night... apparently John had eaten some chili reano (sp?), a mexican dish that night before and something else and they had sat in his stomach and "locked up in a battle" in the early morning hours... so he basically blew up the toilet in my little houseboat... and treated us to the story about it the next day in the studio (his stories were legendary and always hilarious), and we recorded him without his knowledge.. he was mildly upset at first when it turned up on the album, but was soon over it and laughed about it... he was a sweet guy... loved him like a bro... a funny, funny man, and not a single bad-intentioned bone in his body. whenever he would see me out and about he would always shout, "Jimmy Murphy ladies and gentlemen", or "damn Jimmy, lookin' sharp"... embarrassing but endearing, as he did it with genuine friendship. John "Driftwood" Clean passed away of heart failure a few years later. He was in his mid 40's.
