talking about guitars, maybe its off topic, i recently, get to know about the existence of 8 strings guitars, because a band called Scar symmetry used them in a song or two, anyway, i really liked the way the F# string sounded.

anyone here have, played or at least hear'd one of those guitars???

Ibanez makes them exclusively. You should check out an all 8 string band called Meshuggah.

Wow, news to me as well, Scar Symmetry using 8strings? Can we see a video of this? And I'd recommend a band that uses 7strings but uses it extremely well. A fairly unknown finnish band called Stam1na


(note: I'm not sure what guitars were used in this video/song, but I've read they record with 7strings, since I'm tone-deaf I can't be a valid source )

A seven string guitar just incorporates a lower octave A if I am not mistaken. If you can play a 6 string, you can play a 7 or 8 or 12.
