Questions about Peter Gabriel's "So" Remasters (LaserCD Store)

I'm thinking about getting the PG's remasters

I see that LaserCD has all of them I think. But it seems that So has two versions:

So - 2002 Remaster

So - 25th Anniversary

Both CDs have the same paragraphs/words.

My question is, are they the same cds?

Also, how's the sound quality on the remasters? I'm I better off hunting for the original pressings?

There is the 2002 remaster and 2010 remaster.

Personally I listen to the vinyl.

Its a tough call with respect to the CD. Looking at the Dynamic Range Database it seems as though the original 1986 version had slightly higher scoring than the 2002 version which had much higher scoring than the 2014 version.

You might have a hard time finding the 1986 version.

BTW - Peter Gabriel 4 (aka Security) is one of my CD reference discs - but you have to get the original pressing on Geffen. The later pressings (even the SACD) wasn't nearly as good. That first one is magical.

Thanks for the info Ken. I'll probably be placing a PG order tomorrow and get the remasters. Then it's time to hunt down your suggestions.

I lost a box with a bunch of CDs during my last move. I just can't find it. That included a few PG CDs, though I didn't have his full discography.

The ones you carry in your store. Based on the info on your website, they are the Virgin records 2002 remasters. I think the new reissues are digipacks, which I despise.

"So" and "Up" are in jewelboxes. Everything else is a digipak.
