Since it's been so quiet lately. We're still writing, trying to finish nailing down the last couple of songs for the 3rd album. Everything's coming out great, and I think you guys will love it. We're just trying to finish the arrangements and last couple of sections on two of the mini-epics. :) So hopefully before long we'll have the last of the kinks ironed out and will be ready to hit the studio! We'll keep you posted here, of course.

Thanks,

Matt, any plans for a special Christmas show this year, as in years past? I still have a free AirTran ticket burning a hole in my pocket, and I still haven't seen Theocracy. Hmmmmm

Will there be more looooong loooooong epic story-songs? Please?

Nah, nothing super-long like last time, though there will be mini-epics kind of like there were on the first album. I don't suppose there's any reason I can't divulge this, without giving too much away...

Since last time the album was basically a group of planets revolving around one sun (MoS), I wanted to do something different this time, and didn't want the album to have a big centerpiece with a bunch of supporting songs. My goal this time was to put together what felt like a "Theocracy Greatest Hits" album, where every song could potentially be someone's favorite on the album. I was thinking along the lines of Boston's debut record and albums like that, where you instantly know pretty much every song as soon as it comes on the radio--all classics. We always strive for the "all killer, no filler" approach of course, so this is kind of that mindset taken to the extreme. A bunch of shorter songs that will be great live, some epics, some simple material, some complex material, some ballad stuff and some super-heavy stuff--but all with an undeniable signature, and hopefully very memorable.

Can't wait for you guys to hear it!

Will there be any heavier vocals? I'm a thrash/death fan amongst other genres and as much as I'd love some deep vocal experimentation I'd be just as satisfied with a lil' more diversity to the lower parts of the scale :p

Based on the last 2 albums, I trust Matt will make good decisions. Can't wait for it to be released. Hopefully their will be a teaser song on Myspace or something soon :D

Well, my favorite songs on self-titled were Serpent's Kiss and Twist of Fate, so I don't think I'll be dissappointed. Will there be more songs on the album than on MoS? I thought MoS had too few songs (probably because of the song MoS itself taking the space of five songs ).

Will you be doing rhythm guitar duties this time around Matt, or will Jon and Val take over now?
