I just recently read that Andreas Henner, singer for the German speed/thrashers, Squealer, died from inujries sustained in an automobile accident.
This is a very, very sad day in metal. I am a big fan of Squealer, ever since I heard The Prophecy when it came out. I have been anticipating the new album, since Under the Cross, is practicly a classic. I have read that the band may not continue now... this is a sad day indeed.
Andy had a very unique voice that combined grit with melody and he stood out among many metal singers as a true original. Some also knew him as the lable manager for AFM Records, and someone who helped boost the careers of bands like Edguy, Personal War and resurecting thrash legends, Tankard. He as in essance, a pillar in the German metal community.
There will be a ripple effect from this throughout the metal world... and he will truely be missed by all who have come to know him thorugh his music and work.
