On December 2, we lost one of the most accomplished musicians in history. Eric Woolfson will always be known as one half of the legendary prog-rock band The Alan Parsons Project.

R.I.P. Eric Woolfson. :(

Wow! He co wrote many of the classic Alan Parsons Project material such as I-Robot. The album dedicated to Edgar Alan Poe is genius! Definitely a band that kind of disappeared in the shadows for many. After Woolfson left Alan Parson kept it going. Interestingly, they are one of the few bands that has a truly encoded DTS Surround Sound CD.

I've seen The Alan Parsons Project twice but I don't think Eric Wolfson was in it at the time. It was a different singer but very good.

If you know the Pink Floyd album Atom Heart Mother, Alan Parson engineered all those weird tripped out keyboard sounds in that 20 minute suite.
