Most people probably remember him as the guy who was brutally beat up by the LAPD cops and exposed the force for the tyrants that L.A. natives have always known them to be, or the guy known for the phrase "can't we all just get along?".
As a born-and-bred L.A.er myself (hell no, true L.A. natives *never* call themselves "Angelenos"!) and someone who lived through the riots, I won't lie and I do admit that reading this story made me a little sad. Even 20 years after the riots, we still aren't getting along, are we?
