Rack size...

Ok, I can't find it anywhere on the net..so I'll ask here...how wide are rack units? From one edge to another, the width. I'm not talking about when it say 1U or 2U, I mean like if you took a tape measure, and measured from one edge of the front or a unit, to the other side (where the screws go in), how wide is that? Anyone know? I wish I had a tape measure here at the studio...

for anyone else that was curious...according to the BBE sonic maximizer online manual

"EIA Standard rack space is 19 inches width and 1.75 inches Height (1U)"

the question is though if these 19" are with or without the ears. if they are with the ears how wide is the space where the actual candy goes?

19 inches.... The company I work for however went for the 20,5inch standard... Dont know why though
