RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and PROPHETS OF RAGE drummer Brad Wilk has slammed President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw the United States from the landmark Paris climate agreement, saying the move "shows a complete disregard of our children's future." Trump said the world's largest economy was quitting the agreement because it cost money and jobs. He explained that the landmark 2015 pact — which was signed by 195 nations — imposed wildly unfair environmental standards on American businesses and workers. Trump's decision to abandon the agreement for environmental action was widely condemned by world leaders, tech industry heavyweights, the Hollywood elite and a number of musicians, including Wilk, who wrote in an Instagram post: "Donald Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord should be the ultimate wake-up call for all of us. Especially us living in the United States. It shows a complete disregard of our children's future. No ifs ands or buts about it. "The evidence of climate change is as real as can be and we as a race can not ignore that we are responsible for its rapid advancement and can do things to slow down the ever growing enormous consequences. "Trump is making a huge mistake. We need to get on board with creating new innovative ways of producing energy or suffer the consequences. It seems that Trump would wait until our costal cities are underwater before acknowledging we as a race have an adverse effect on the climate. "Impeachment sounds better to me than extinction. #ourchildrenslivesmatter" PROPHETS OF RAGE, the supergroup featuring members of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, PUBLIC ENEMY and CYPRESS HILL, has just released a video for its new single, "Unfuck The World". Directed by political activist and filmmaker Michael Moore — who previously worked with RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE years ago on the "Sleep Now In The Fire" video — it juxtaposes politically charged footage with shots of the band performing live. "Unfuck The World" is taken from PROPHETS OF RAGE's self-titled debut album, due out on September 15.
