Rare Shadows Fall performance this weekend on beMETAL.com

beMETAL.com is a new internet radio station created by my friend and myself. For a description of what beMETAL.com is all about click here.

Well the time has finally come for a "grand opening" of beMETAL.com!!! I feel that the site has passed the "testing" phase, and is ready to be unleashed upon the world.

This is the plan: this coming weekend you'll have three chances to catch a live radio show that Shadows Fall did at WJUL (now known as WUML, I was a DJ there from 1999-2002) on 5/4/2000. Showtimes will be Friday 3/26 at 9:00PM, [UPDATE!] Saturday 3/27 at 9:00PM, and Sunday 3/28 at 11:00PM (all times are Eastern Standard Time). This way, hopefully everyone who wants to listen will be able to, regardless of what timezone they are in.

Here is the setlist:

4. Serenity
5. Root Bound Apollo
6. Fleshold
7. Of One Blood
8. Revel In My Loss
9. Interview

The whole show lasted about an hour.

What makes this cool is that, as far as I know, there were only two copies of this show ever made, the original DAT tape, and a copy I made on MiniDisc. So the only way you're going to get to hear this show is to tune-in this weekend.

So mark your calendars, make sure you have a supported player, throw a party, invite all your friends and go nuts.

Following the show will be a setlist of all new metal, so you'll want to stay tuned for that.

Honestly, right now the website isn't much to look at, but I hope the music makes up for it.

Eventually there will be a lot more content on the site itself, I just haven't had the time.

I have a lot in store for it. For example, there will be a set schedule where playlists of new metal in different genres get played at certain times during the week. So if you're into black, death, grind, power, etc. metal, you can tune in at a certain time every week and hear stuff in that genre.

Also, my friend is working on an original webcomic as well, all metal related, which should be cool.

I have decided to move tonight's re-broadcast of Shadows Fall's live performance on WJUL to 9:00PM Eastern Standard Time. I don't know how it slipped my mind, but Headbanger's Ball starts at 10:00PM, and I don't want people to have to choose between the two. The show lasts for about an hour, so if you tune-in at 9:00 you'll still be able to catch HBB at 10:00.

Last night's broadcast went off without a hitch, so if you listened I hope you enjoyed it.

I have a feeling that tonight's broadcast might have a few more listeners than last night, since we're getting posted on siN's Metal News and perhaps even some other metal news sites. So if you want to listen, come early to secure a slot for yourself!
