Hi all,

Here's a cover of Dio's Holy Diver (recorded entirely by me). More importantly, my first attempt at mixing a song...this is the best I've managed.

I think the vocals are the best part of the cover, although it's quite off at some spots^^
still a lot of space for improvement on almost every part of the mix
and yeah, the pic up there quite summs up the sonic impression of the mix in general
but you gotta start somewhere!

I can't comment on the mixing as I'm not very good at it myself but the Vocalist is a brilliant singer.

oh and btw, if you provide some info on how you recorded this, i am sure you ll get plenty of tips how to improve mix

Thanks, just wanted some preliminary views before talking about my set-up. So, this is fully recorded at home. I'm primarily using the Line 6 UX1 to record into my Windows PC. Had latency issues so I recorded everything on the packaged DAW, then mixed the tracks in Sonar PE 6. Some details on the rig..

Vocals: SM58, room with decent acoustics
Guitar: Jackson Dk2M Dinky
Drums: It's basically DFH with some tweaks (replaced some samples etc.)
