rate this guitar sound

Please tell me what you think of the mix :

Especially the guitar sound, I'm still struggling to make it to sound good. Amp was an Engl Powerball, miced with 57 and Royer. I tried to get rid of the fizz and muddyness but it sounds strange right now.

Hey guys, I gave a new shot to the mix this afternoon and the result is thousand times better !

Just drums (rooms, OH, kick, snare, hats, no toms), guitars, and bass, no vocals.
Sometimes it's better to re-think everything from the start. I tried to achieve a sound that didn't match what was recorded. I'm satisfied right now, even if it's not "perfect".

I rate it ""Very Nice". Nice well-rounded mix overall with everything sitting nicely in its place but also well-defined. That snare cracks through nicely. Cool Bass tone. What Cab was used on guitars and what percentage blend were the mic's?

The cab was a Bogner Uberkab. It's exactly 60% SM57, 40% Royer. The Royer sounds awesome but unfortunately I had to EQ a lot to get a decent result (it's the fault of the amp settings I dialed).

Anyway I have a new mix here

I processed the drums through an SSL hardware compressor, but still kept a bit of the original kick drum in parallel for the dynamics.
I think it's more controlled and beefy, I changed the guitars and bass a bit, a lot better IMO.
