Here's my take on all their studio album covers from best to worst:
1. V - A cool concept that uses both front and back to show off the 'duality' of the masks. Professionally done and very colorful.
2. Twilight in Olympus - Love the ancient architecture and the baroque scultures. The look really projects the 'neo-classicism' that's in their music. And the red sword is a nice touch too.
3. Odyssey - Kind of cheesy, but not in a bad way. The artwork seems typical of superhero comic books like Conan and such. Gotta love those sirens and the way those wisps of hair just seem to cover up the naughty bits... :Smug:
4. The Damnation Game - The artwork is rather 2-dimensional and flat looking, but the picture itself is cool and a bit mysterious.
5. Divine Wings of Tragedy - This is pretty weak IMO. The artwork looks like it could have been done in a high-school art class. The only redeeming quality is the out-of-focus stained glass windows with the masks in the background.
6. Symphony X - Not much to say about this one, except that it works to establish their 'icon/avatar' for all future album covers to come.
?? Paradise Lost - From the 'leaked' pics that I've seen, it looks like this will be a good one....
Anyway, I think I must have too much time on my hands.
