Guitar Meets Science has shared a new mini-documentary. Check it out below:
“This week, we’re diving face-first into the snarling, mascara-smeared mess that was Ratt—a band that clawed its way out of the Sunset Strip gutter, crashed through MTV’s front door with ‘Round And Round’, and rode that riff all the way to platinum glory and backstabbing hell. It’s the story of five guys with teased hair, tight pants, and tighter egos who lit up the ‘80s with big hooks and bigger fights, then spent the next few decades in a courtroom tug-of-war over the band name like it was a damn divorce settlement. From sold-out arenas to revolving door lineups, from Milton Berle in drag to lawsuits that just wouldn’t die, Ratt didn’t just go viral before viral was a thing—they blew up, burned out, and kept circling the drain, over and over again.”
Sleaze Roxx is reporting that it looks like the upcoming shows featuring Ratt‘s classic era members, Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini, will feature one additional Ratt alumni.
Pearcy‘s solo band drummer, Blas Elias, has posted a message with a photo from Jason Green indicating that the rest of the lineup for the upcoming Pearcy / DeMartini shows will include bassist Matt Thorne and former Quiet Riot guitarist Carlos Cavazo. The latter was in Ratt from 2008 to 2014 and from 2016 to 2018, and he was part of the band’s lineup that released the album Infestation back in 2010.
The following message was posted in part on Elias‘ Facebook page earlier today: “Just finished up rehearsals for the upcoming Pearcy/ Demartini shows, man this band sounds killer! So cool having these guys back together, gonna be a great time!”
Upcoming Pearcy/DeMartini performances:
April
5 – Uncasville, CT – Mohegan Sun Arena
May
4 – Columbia, MD – M3 Music Festival
July
26 – Beaver Dam, KY – Rock The Dam
