Ever been to a rave or a trance festival/party, etc? Part of the ongoing drug culture (non-weed). Share opinions, discussions and nearly dry vials here.

Been to a few raves/rave-ish private parties. I even made the mistake of trying ecstasy once. I know what most claim it does, and I know what I experienced. Aside from finding carpet to be way to fascinating at a tactile level, the other effects were highly unpleasant.

I can say in all fairness, no one can ever cast aspersions towards even the most retarded behavior of metalheads at their worst during a metal show/gathering in comparsion to absolute vacuous, ridiculous behaviors and mentalities I observed at such events.

I'm sure it was, but I've got some weird body chemistry issues when it comes to drugs/pharmacuticals (such as having a resistance to anasthesia) and even my experiences with weed have been negative. Suffice to say it was unpleasant, as were the long-lingering side-effects.

This is the longest post you will ever read from me, just enjoy it and be enlightened. These are honest and true words from my soul on a topic that I find righteously important

I went to the All Good music festival this summer. Concerning the availabilty of drugs, I was absolutely astonished. First of all things, there was no security at this gathering of about 15-20,000 people by my guess. A few people were obliged to dress as "security", but they were partying just as hard. A fellow was trying to get into the concert area (the only place where you get a quick pat-down if you were one of the unlucky ones). The "guard" grabbed right onto my glass bowl and didn't say a thing. The guy right behind us had what looked like a quarter-pound of nuggets in his backpack. Anywhere else in the US, you would DEFINITELY end up in prison but the staff member said, "uh... I'd prefer if you didn't bring that it right now. Is that cool?" Now THAT is excellent.

Back to the availabilty of drugs. You can't imagine it, I really swear that you cannot. Imagine being around 20,000 people with about 1/6 of them selling substances. Anywhere you walked (not really in the camping or vending areas, or around children) you would hear the merchants simply stating what they had in stock. "Rolls, K, Yayo", "Doses, Hash, Opium, Mushrooms", "Speed, pills", "Mescaline and crunchy brown molly", "nitrous, it's going quick!", "bubblehash", "DMT extract, mescaline", etc...

You would hear it ALL day. Many of them were holding the products in their hands for all to see. When you wanted something, obviously the transaction happened right there under the public's eye. It was truly amazing to me on so many levels. I'm not saying that I approve of such a moral pit of doom, but it is definitely incredible to experience it here in the USA! The most important point of my narrative is that everything was perfectly fine- All Good indeed! There are 20,000 people here, and honestly 90% of them are indulging in marijuana, all sorts of benzodiazepines, all sorts of amphetamines, ketamine, cocaine, opium, hashish, mushrooms, mescaline, 2C-B and other phenethylamines, PLENTY of LSD, MDMA (E), and many other drugs. The government will tell you that this scene would be a dangeous and frightening place full of people completely out of their minds, but this was not the case at all. While there were a few strange encounters with a few strange people, everyone got along. As I said, it was truly All Good. This, ladies and gentlemen, is a fine example of responsible drug use. People with access to any substance they want, without ANY sort of authority, just having a good time and watching out for eachother. This made it one of the most important weekends of my life. I didn't think that such good feelings and peace could exist, I seriously did not think it could ever exist on such a large scale in our world. This gathering of people (which was held on a BEAUTIFUL, lush green mountaintop) was otherworldly. This, under my perception, was a miracle.

Oh, and Les Claypool played there. He was amazing. :)

My friend brought back half a dozen types of AMAZING headies from All Good a few years ago. I always thought it would be interesting to go to this.

I had my phase with raves and all the drugs that go along with it when I was 19-20...haven't looked back. I'm pretty sure that the discontinuation of using E contributed somewhat to my deep depression which followed thereafter.

so would you say it was an overall negative or positive experience with the MDMA? were you depressed because your brain was fucked up or because you thought that it was something useful and amazing that you sadly had to part with? that's how I feel at the end of an amazing LSD experience... just bummed out that I have to return to such a dull, slow, and uninspired world (in comparison).

I had about seven or eight months of extreme depression, mood swings, and my insomnia got horrible following just my brief use of E. I didn't even enjoy myself on it that much. It is supposedly more uncommon to experience longer term effects, but damn it wasn't worth it for me.
