From my point of view its just her rationalising a fear of her own success. And the inability to distinguish success from happiness. There simply cannot be a capitalistic approach to the arts, from judgement to comparison. Subjectivity plays a massive role, and what we create can (mostly doesnt) resonate with large groups in our circles, or the world nowadays. Such things create massive capitalistic movements on a project and puts a price on it and gets alot of business minds involved in something that was purely a creative endeavour. That resonance may never be found again, but that doesn't mean further/prior work was any more or less important. It obviously does to the accountant. Thats where the pressure comes from, the notion that success ($) is an artists worth.
