I have been sort of pushing the limits of how fat I can make guitars for the mix lately. This shootout contains two of the tones I have been playing with in a mix context using no EQ. Let me know which you like the best, and feel free to leave comments or critiques as well.

kinda hard to pick one over the other...even on the shitty little computer speakers i'm listening with right now, it's easy to tell that there's a lot more midrange content in clip A...which makes the guitars pop out a lot more, but i kind of like the way the more scooped tone in B sits in the mix, just makes it all seem a little more coherent. i guess it really depends on whether you want the guitars to be dominant, or on even keel with everything else. either way, both sound pretty good man!

B is a more typical way of dialing a 5150, but tweaked to sound good with my rig and in my room. A is a different way of dialing a 5150 that I came up with to make a cleaner response across a wider range of frequencies.
