Reamping with an Axe-Fx

Could someone give me a rundown on how to do this? I've never had any experience with re-amping on real amps so I have no clue how it even works.

Also, when I record the DI's through the Axe-Fx should I put anything in the chain? (comp, etc)

Don't put anything in the chain, you will reamp like normal. You need a reamp box to convert the signal still.
