Can you do this? I have every song in a single project and I want to add something in between two songs which will require me to move everything to make room.

I always feel like I'm walking on thin ice messing with markers in Reaper because they always give me trouble and fuck something up.

It's hard and there's no real way to move a group of markers (as in a song) together. I can't remember the option to insert an empty space in a project, which moves everything next to it to the right including tempo markers, and I'm on my phone so it's annoying to search. Search for my thread on markers in reaper are a pain in the ass, Adam Wathan gave some invaluable advice over there. Plus you'll need to be careful with your timebase if you're gonna be moving stuff around so that thread will help you

Edit: Jon beat me to the empty space thing, duh, didn't read it

Option C) select from the part you want to move to the end. Right click in the ruler, create region from time selection. You can then drag the grey box to where you need.
For loop based music this is a great way to change up the arrangement quickly.

But this does not move what is within the region, it only moves the edges of the region but not any audio or midi or whatever items. What is the point?

This always screws me up as well.

Just yesterday I made some drums and normally I'd put a 4 or 8 count before the track so that when I import to Reaper the song doesnt just start right at the 0:00:00 point, but yesterday I didn't do that and while I can add a pre-count, I always fear that it'll cut the very beginning of my guitar/bass tracks off instead of having the track recording before the actual song starts.

Sure it does, have you tried it? That's what regions are for in Reaper dude!

Are you kidding me?? holy fuck it does! And it moves tempo markers with it! :OMG:

I thought seeing from your own fingers (as in you typed it) that there was no way to move tempo maps/time sigs around together as a group, but this does it, at least at a quick first glance it seems to work

Adam is seriously the man!

God damn....I'm so glad I finally figured this out, just a few clicks and done. I was pulling my teeth and hair when trying to edit tempo maps for my band a while back.

Just tried this, and it doesn't move markers tho'...

Anyway, anyone knows a way to move several or at least all markers at the same time, without moving anything else (media items) ?
