Recording acoustic guitar underwater ?

If you're talking about submerging an acoustic guitar and trying to get someone to play it underwater...well, good luck being able to play anything at all. Also, I doubt that you could even get the strings to resonate when surrounded by water.

You could be onto a new genre. Sub-bass is getting a whole new definition.

Seriously though, I would like to hear that as well :D My guess is that the strings will resonate, but the sustain will be a lot shorter.

How about playing something out of a water proof speaker and recording it somehow? Seems more possible than actually playing underwater..

i wonder what would happen if you recorded something above water and then record the same performance underwater and then use those to match eq the underwater source to sound like its not underwater. then possibly make underwater speakers that sound similar to normal speakers typically sound but underwater.

 Nah, the strings won't oscillate and the resonances can't spread throughout the body. Everything's gonna be muted.

Edit:
Waterproof mic?

Yup you are right, turns out this guy does it with an electric in this video:

Pretty much just chuggachugga whenever it hits the water :D
