Recording

I want to record songs but im not in any position to get an 8 track or anything. i want to records guitars and bass into my computer and be able to add drum loops, eventually making them into an mp3 file. whats the best way to go about it and which programs should i use for recording and making drum loops? will i need any other hardware other than a mic a guitar and an amp?

im currently d/l cubase sx. is this a good program to use?

Cubase is fine. You might want to get a low-latency sound card and LM4 is a good VST instrument for programming drums. Have fun.

I use acid pro 4.0
now all i need is a decent guitar and a computer that will run it without freezing lol

What sound card would be a good low latency card? I was thinking of picking up a sound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum pro, but i dont know if its low latency or not.

ASIO 2.0 drivers for low latency (as low as 2ms) multi-track playback and recording at 16-bit/48kHz or 24-bit/96kHz
