I'm trying to find a copy of "Redding rock 1982?" ( not sure about the year)my freind had the lp back in the day. Twisted Sister played that year apperently there were some people who didn't aprecciate them and were throwing things at them... but only hitting the people in the front. Dee Snider went off on a rant about " these people up here payed their f***ing money they love Heavy Metal ... if anybody has anything to say to Twisted Sister they can meet us back ther after the show and say it to our f****ing faces." then they busted into a very aggressive "Shoot em Down" Also does anyone remember Redding 1980: Blackfoot and Iron Maiden jamming ZZ Top's "Tush" and if so where could I find a recording of that. in closing since this is not really a Saxon related post...
I do know he came out with the exact same spiel at Donington one year but can't remember which year. The very first Donington when a couple of bottles hit the stage during Saxon's set Biff shouted 'Pack it in,I know where you all live!' This seemed to break the ice a bit and as I remember they went down a storm. Maybe Dee was trying the same ploy. Britain needs a dedicated HM festival again. There's still a market here for it. How about a 25th Anniversary reunion of Donington? Priest,Scorps and Saxon are all touring. Rainbow might be a bit difficult to reform due to Blackmore retiring to the 15th century! I don't know what became of April Wine or Touch but they were bit-part players anyway. I say water the field so it's the same mudbath and GET IT ON!
