I've got to say at almost 63 Rob does a mad representation on the vocals, some solid tunes on it...Anyone heard it, thoughts ?

I heard it tonight and thought it sounded like a half-decent tribute band at best. Every riff has been done 2-3 times by Priest themselves already and Rob's vocals sound like guide-vocals for a demo. No power at all. I put in Painkiller after half of Redeemer and was shocked by how crappy the new album is. No energy at all in the performances and the mix. Then I put in Jugulator and Owens blows Halford out of the water.
Priest has become one of these bands that should have stopped in the mid-90s. Like Metallica.
Disclaimer: if the 2nd half of the album is completely different then I'm an idiot for having the opinion above - I just couldn't get myself to listen to more than 5 songs ...

I liked half of the songs - maybe more. I don't mind the old fashioned production, in fact I think that ,production-wise, it sounds just like the Priest I've always loved. I'd say that musically, by and large, it's one of their better efforts with Halford since what I consider the best metal album of all times "Painkiller". There are some cheesy "put-togethers" in Redeemer that could have been avoided.
However, I find the volume difference of the vocals from track to track extremely annoying, but most importantly, I find that the vocals sound very strained and have very little in common with the trademark vocals of the past. That's what ruins it for me. He will always be one of my favourite vocalists but he turned an ok album into a mediocre one. Normally an ok album would sound stellar with his voice.

much better than i expected and has some catchy songs. that said, it sure as hell is no jugulator or painkiller.

I don't think the production is old fashioned, I think it sucks. I love old fashioned productions (Killing Machine, British Steel, Point Of Entry, Screaming For Vengeance).
I think it's barely better than Nostrad-anus but much worse than Angel Of Retribution which wasn't great but wasn't as bad as Ram it Down or the Ripper era albums (I never liked them, not because of Ripper but because the music bored me to tears)
I'd say it's the third or fourth shittiest Judas Priest album and they need to retire.

Seriously, I heard a bit of all songs from youtube and doesnt seem bad. But yes the mix sucks donkey balls, doesnt have that vintage sound, simply sucks, nothing more.

Haha, I've always liked the Ripper albums the best. There was a lot of more experimenting on those records, music and sound-wise. To each his own, of course.

the youtube vids sound particularly awful. not sure why they uploaded such low quality files. the itunes version sounds much better.
I think the producer could have said "again" a few more times, from what I've read they were going for a "live" type production, I dont like the mix or production, but the songs are good and sadly as a Priest tragic and will continue to dig the album 
Definitely lacking will...on his current vocal stage he mentioned in an interview
with Eddie Trunk that when he tried to sing Man on the Silver Mountain
in the original key "it was killing him".

Has anyone noticed missing fades in some of the songs like Secrets of the Dead and Battlecry? Minor click at the start of some transients. Heavily annoying. I bet they ran into issues with their new installed pro tools system
