REDEMPTION, the U.S. progressive metal band led by guitarist/songwriter Nick Van Dyk, has parted ways with FATES WARNING vocalist Ray Alder and has replaced him with EVERGREY's Tom Englund. REDEMPTION's current lineup — which is rounded out by Sean Andrews (bass) and Chris Quirarte (drums) — has finished recording its seventh full-length album, "Long Night's Journey Into Day", for an early 2018 release via Metal Blade. The disc was produced by Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, PRIMAL FEAR, AMARANTHE, DORO) and once again features guest appearances by guitarists Chris Poland (MEGADETH, OHM:) and Simone Mularoni (DGM). "We are delighted to welcome Tom as the voice of REDEMPTION", said Van Dyk. "He has an incredibly powerful, soulful and emotional voice that our music really demands and we are quite confident that people will be blown away by what we have created together." REDEMPTION will headline next year's edition of the ProgPower USA festival, set to take place September 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia. The band's last album, "The Art Of Loss", was released in February 2016 via Metal Blade. Photo credit: Stephanie Cabral
