Region free DVD players?

generally, aren't most el-cheapo generic brand dvd players region free? well-known manufacturers adhere to the region code standards but as lurch said most can be trivially unlocked

Also, Persians are not Arabs, although I do refer to her as my Aye-rab woman sometimes anyhow, because I engage in redneck tendencies.

I got a cheap player by Yamada; as the Chinese don't pay patents it plays MP3, Divx, Avi, MP4, MP2 and a load of other files, it's multi-region and has a PAL to NTSC conveerter, and all for about £50. So far I've dropped it, dropped a lot of stuff on it, and moved house with it three times, and it still works perfectly. Tho if you have the money it's worth getting a more expensive multi-region one

Avoid Daewoos. I had mine for about 2 years but then it started playing up. Also, I had to keep punching the code in via the remote to keep it region-free....and then the remote stopped working. Right now I have no region-free player!! Gah.

So the Daewoo makes a good door stop, just like my Sega Dreamcast.
