Since it was released decades ago, “Thunderstruck” has remained one of AC/DC’s most popular tunes, reports Forbes Senior Contributor, Hugh McIntyre. In fact, after so many years have passed, it may be safe to call the rocking cut the biggest ever shared from the Australian band.

“Thunderstruck” is usually the AC/DC smash that performs best on charts all around the world. It can almost always be found on one ranking or another in countries like the US and the UK, though its performance depends on many factors that may help it rise, such as important syncs or media coverage, or the competition it faces.

This time around, the tune is growing in popularity in the UK. The single is always a winner, but this frame, it climbs on all three of the rankings it appears on, and it is once again a true bestseller.

At the moment, “Thunderstruck” appears highest on the “Official Rock & Metal Singles” chart, which ranks the bestselling tunes in those styles. AC/DC’s smash only lifts one space, but that allows it to return to the top five, as it ascends from No. 6 to fifth place.

“Thunderstruck” appears in similar positions on both the “Official Singles Downloads” and “Official Singles Sales” charts. This frame, it pushes from No. 68 to No. 62 on the list of the most-downloaded tunes in the UK. Its climb on the all-encompassing sales roster is not as impressive, as it jumps just three spots, landing at No. 68.
