The is the fucking FPS game of the year, no doubt. Wolf 3D started it all and now it is back with a vengeance. If one has the horsepower to run the graphics and details at full level - Mouth dropping visuals! This game just plain rocks!

How about that cathedral in the first mission? The architectural structure and attention to detail was absolutely amazing. And the fluidity of movement by the enemy and their detailed uniforms...

not to mention the excellent gameplay, level designs and AI of the enemy themselves.

The look and feel of the game are striking for this style of game.

And I too noticed the feel of the enemy - it seems dimensional - a dark room, my 19" monitor, great sound - I find myself checking for injuries:lol:

You are the older dude on here aren't you? like me that is.

Interesting, there is a person, besides myself, who is over 35 loves Opeth and plays FPS shooters on their computer.

Well, I guess I am not alone afterall (lol).

Yup - I think I am the elder statesman on this board @ 41 (unless others are afraid to admit)

My game playing has been limited to both Wolfenstein's, Doom, EA Sports NHL series, Tomb Raider, and a few others over the years

My dad is 50 and enjoys all kinds of video games...he sucks at it but enjoys them nonetheless he even bought a gameboy for himself and finished all Ninja gaidens so far. I dont see why adults couldnt/wouldnt/shouldnt enjoy games.

I have a GeForce2 MX too, I don't know if yours is the 64meg or not, but I have my graphics turned up all the way...now I do have an AMD Anthlon 1.33 with 256M RAM - maybe that is what makes the diff...the motherboard plays a part in speed too (you may already know this, I am just saying)...I have an excellent Gigabyte MB.

Do you know about the "hunkmegs?" If you have at least 256M RAM you can hit the tilde key and speed the game up by

/com_hunkmges 162

for sound

/com_soundmgs 32

fyi

I have a P4, 1.8Gb, with 80 Gb HD, 1Gb Ram, GEForce 3 w/64MB, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, Cambridge MegaWorks (great 150W sub under my desk!), 19" Trinitron running XP professional. (CD-RW and DVD drive also - can burn DVD's to CD's - don't have the DVD writer yet - too expensive)

I think my computer can handle any game on the market today.

I...I...cant resist here are my system spects:

Asus av7-e motherboard ( i think thats a via apollo 133 chipset with the southbridge B ( the one with dma 100 integrated )) Using 2 168 pin 128 sdram 133mhz a maxtor 15gb dma 66 7200rpm ( dont know bout the cache havent checked ) a generic geforce 2 mx ( the first one with 32mb of ram ) and a athlon tbird 950mhz running windows xp final. The only thing holding me back is the video bandwidth and since my city gets 40 to 45celcius in summer and i have no air conditioner im not ready to overclock ( i also cant pay those expensive water cooling solutions ).

Im upgrading to 128+512 dimms soon but my video bandwidth is really low to have a nice detail on this new games anyway i think ill get a geforce 3 ti 200 in some months and i should be ok while i save to buy an MP or faster system.

BTW is not the mobo my mobo is rated at almost the same speed of the fastest via 133 chipset mobo ( another asus ) but it has less features thats why is cheaper.

I thought about spending xtra $$ to get a 2Ghz processor, but I couldn't warrant the $$ difference vs. performance - I don't think I would have noticed much of a difference

i couldn't resist to buy a laptop... but sadly that's the only computer i own - nevertheless i walked trough castle wolfenstein. god it was annoying sometimes, the sound all messed up and the frame rate about 1,5 FPS. but as i'm waiting for the next elder scrolls part "morrowind", i surely will have to buy a new desktop... sad but true
