Reverend Bizarre

From Doom Metal:

This Reverend preaches the doom gospel in a most convincing way. Slow and heavy traditional doom with dramatic vocals following in the footsteps of bands like St. Vitus, The Obssessed and of course Black Sabbath (without becoming borderline stoner!). The Reverend sure knows how to preach their gospel: ".. puritans are awake, the crusade against trendy stoner shit goes ever on. Doom over the World!" I guess all we can add is an "Amen brother"?

Hohohoho.....Harbinger of Metal is fucking brilliant. It's true classic doom, but slowed down and fuzzed up. Even the bass is slightly distorted. Vocals have that late 70's flavor vibrato with a touch of reverb. Overall, it's a complete wall of sound, a total barrage of bass-heavy riffs coming out your speakers. The strings are tuned so low, they hang from the fretboard.

how can an EP be 70 minutes? does this mean Crimson and Light of Day, Day of Darkness are EPs? I'm at a loss here....

ok, i may hate them, but i just agreed to give up a behemoth and a bolt thrower cd for the original in the rectory of the bizarre reverend and harbinger of metal

such fun...
