Heyy!

How long have you had that Mills cabinet? What do you think of it? I love mine :headbang:

not mine BTW, The Herbert and Mills belong the other guitarist in my main band. It's a great cab, love how it fills out the sound in a room. The first time i got to play thru it i wasn't that impressed, Then i played thru his Roadking cab right afterwards and was floored at the difference, The Mills is impressive, i could walk around the room and the sound didn't change, but the standard 4x12 was so directional. The Mills is definitely on my wish list now.

edit:
Fucking hell I want to hear the Mark V so bad!!!

LOL, i did too. i bumped into the guitar player from my old band and told him our local store finally got a pair of heads in and 2 days later he sent me a pic of his new tow, which i promptly asked to borrow! Ch1 and 2 are great, i love ch2 on the Mark I setting for leads, it's so fluid. Ch1's cleans are great too. 3 was a little tricky to dial in, i wish i had more time but i only had the weekend with it.

Now that I'm actually on to post something this week...

During the first session for the rhythm guitars, the bassist in my other band dropped by for a bit; apparently we were loud enough that he could hear us before he got out of his Jeep. We're recording on the sixth floor in the middle of the city. :headbang:

Anyway, there's some cool stuff going on here- room mics, mics behind cabs, all sorts of craziness. Most of the songs are only one guitar a side. Albeit through multiple rigs and a ton of mics. A couple of the songs have a third track up the middle, but that's it. A handful of different boosts, too- TS9, Sparkle Drive, Fulltone OCD- and most of the songs don't share the same guitar combination.

There's a fair bit of distant micing on the drum tracks as well; even the close mics on the toms were what, a foot back from the heads? Glyn Johns OH setup as well.

At some point in the near future I'll get around to posting up a list of what we've used so far/are intending on using.

Even for the clean tones we're planning on the above-pictured AC30 (a '94 6/TBX with Alnico Blues, FWIW), an old single-ended class A amp and maybe a 40-year old Fender Super Reverb. Nothing exceeds like excess. :kickass:
