Long-running US metallers RIOT have checked in with the following update:

“Good news afloat! New logo and CD artwork being worked on, new songs sounding great, and Bart got us offered a Fest in Germany and two dates in Greece in February! Were ready just waiting on Bobby (Jarzombek)!”

Riot will release their new album, Chapter 5, Back For The Attack in 2014 via SPV/ Steamhammer (in North America and Europe) and Avalon/ Marquee (Asia).

A band update from August read: “Extensive press release coming soon as well as info and samples. Thank you fans for your support! Thank you Mark (Reale), this is for you and dedicated to you! Shine on metal warrior!"

On Wednesday, January 25th, 2012, Riot's legendary guitarist and founder Mark Reale passed away due to complications stemming from Crohn's disease in a San Antonio hospital. He was 56 year old.

Just prior to Reale's passing, Riot had released Immortal Soul (in October 2011) featuring Tony Moore on lead vocals, Mike Flyntz on guitar, Don Van Stavern on bass and Bobby Jarzombek on drums.
