Great black actors? Really?

Samuel Jackson plays a caricature of himself in every movie, even when it isn't called for by the script. Morgan Freeman has been typecast playing the wise old black man for the last 20 or so movies, and while he's very good at it, it doesn't let us see if he has any other range. Bernie Mac and Chappelle are primarily stage comedians, and I can't think of a decent movie either has ever been in. Will Smith... there is a lot of talent there I think, but he keeps choosing to make terrible Will Smiff movies where he plays the same character over and over.
