Wrote and recorded everything. Looking for some feedback in general...

Whoa. That 808 at 0:31 completely destroys the mix. Bring that way, way down. The drums sound passable. Guitar tone sounds very undergained and boxy. The high vox that start around 2:30 or so have this weird phase-y, gurgly sound about them.

Change the guitar tone. It seems like it's hitting the master bus too hard too, squashing the mix.

Those guitars definitely need more gain. The kick is also a little too upfront for me. 1:45 reminds me of a song section in James bond Goldeneye for N64 haha. This song could be awesome if some things are changed!

Am I retarded? I have my sub way up and I dont hear an 808......

My set up is VERY ghetto... Just a lexicon lambda with 1 sm 58 on a marshall dsl.

I recorded everything w the tv in the background though so i could stand to clean this up but I do appriciate all of the comments...

Definately agree that the low mids are too much but I dunno about undergained...I did another clip with overgained and everything is ULTRA muddy maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I think the kick sounds awesome but on the really fast double kick bits in the breakdown like at 3.03 it sounds really programmed..maybe try changing the velocities?

Thanks Danablos I like how it sounds in my car with the subs for sure but you are definately right about being programmed sounding... next tune I'm doing is like 10 minutes long its gonna be prog doom metal which im sure ill post here as well
