Whoa. That 808 at 0:31 completely destroys the mix. Bring that way, way down. The drums sound passable. Guitar tone sounds very undergained and boxy. The high vox that start around 2:30 or so have this weird phase-y, gurgly sound about them.
Those guitars definitely need more gain. The kick is also a little too upfront for me. 1:45 reminds me of a song section in James bond Goldeneye for N64 haha. This song could be awesome if some things are changed!

My set up is VERY ghetto... Just a lexicon lambda with 1 sm 58 on a marshall dsl.
I recorded everything w the tv in the background though so i could stand to clean this up but I do appriciate all of the comments...
Definately agree that the low mids are too much but I dunno about undergained...I did another clip with overgained and everything is ULTRA muddy maybe I'm doing something wrong?
I think the kick sounds awesome but on the really fast double kick bits in the breakdown like at 3.03 it sounds really programmed..maybe try changing the velocities?
Thanks Danablos I like how it sounds in my car with the subs for sure but you are definately right about being programmed sounding... I actually have a new version of this with clean vocals included If anyone wants to check it out its here http://soundcloud.com/andrew-hart/the-men-who-live-in-the-sun-pt
next tune I'm doing is like 10 minutes long its gonna be prog doom metal which im sure ill post here as well
