Rest in peace Stan Winston.

Wow, what a HUGE loss in the entertainment industry today. Last night, the amazing Stan Winston passed away. He was only 62.

If you don't know who he was, he was the creator of some of the best movie effects in the last 20 years. Aliens, Predator, The Terminator, Edward Scissorhands, Jurassic Park, Monster Squad, Pumpkinhead, Heartbeeps, AI, Batman Returns and he's the creator of the AMAZING Iron Man armor for the movie.

What a loss, and 62 is way to young.

Aliens, Predator, Terminator, and Jurassic Park are some of my favorite movies! I didn't know who he was but I grew up watching his awesome effects/movies. 62 is pretty young to go, what happened?

That movie rocked when I was a kid. Winston pretty much did the special effects to all of my favorite movies. Without him, nobody would have had any nightmares in the 80's. Such a shame.

This really is terrible news. It is definitely a shame any time someone dies so young, especially a man with so much still to offer. With a list of credits to his name like Aliens, Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, etc. the man really was a legend. Unfortunately, this will just give the movie industry even more incentive to go with cartoon, bullshit CGI effects.

The sad news is, I looked on CNN yesterday, and there was NO mention of Stan at all, but they let us know that "Amy Winehouse 'faints, hospitalized'"
