Robotic Vocoder/Spacey VSTi

I'm sure you can guess where I'm going with this. I'm starting to write for a new project that calls for some robotic vocals (think the Geth from Mass Effect), very spacey soundscapes, and some futuristic pads/arpeggiators.

Do you guys have any suggestions for Vocoders and VSTis that would fit the bill? My plug-in collection atm is limited to stock Reaper/PT9 with the exception of a few dynamics plugs. I'm not trying to break the bank, but I don't mind shelling out for something that would bring this project to life. I've used things like reFX Nexus before, which I loved, but having to buy all those separate expansions can get real pricey. Anyone?

Yeah it may just be time for me to fork up the dough for Melodyne. It's been on my list for a while now. I've def been procrastinating sifting through all those free VSTs, which is half the reason I started this thread. To see if there were any gems out there without raiding the internet for plugs.

Actually this vid is almost exactly what I'm looking to do, more or less. Youtube is wonderful like that. This guy is using an Ableton Vocoder, which I don't have, but I'm sure I'll find something just as good if not better.
