Jay Munly and the Lee lewis Harlots, or jay munly's solo album ''Jimmy Carter syndrome'', it is really cool but i don't know if it is fucking psychobilly:erk::erk:

"gothabilly" haha
I have heard that term used to describe Fields of the Nephilim. Probably cuz the cowboy outfits and the album Dawnrazor has some western themes...

I have never heard any Rockablily/Psychobilly, but not interested either.

iirc 16 hp is "gothabilly"

try woven hand, the new project of 16 hp's frontman

I love this stuff...

For the more easily available stuff try The Reverend Horton Heat - the earlier albums are more hard and punkish and the later stuff is more purist, but you can't go wrong with the album "Liquor in the Front" which is kind of a mix of both.

Other bands to check out are Skitzo, The Griswalds, Nekromantix, Coffin Bones, Demented are Go!, The Mad Mongols, Frenzy and many more.

I used to go to the Klubfoot venue many years back (the Hammersmith Clarenden, now demolished and turned into a car park) and these Psychobilly shows were always 100x more violent than the thrash shows that were at the same place. Not saying that's a good thing, but that's just how it was...

The Living End have a huge rockabilly influence. I don't think they are very well known out of Australia, but they are doing the Warped tour. Check out some of their earlier stuff especially the self-titled album. Roll On was more Aussie bogan rock. Modern ARTillery was a combination, and has their shot at a prog song "The Room". State Of Emergency is more back to their roots.

I've grown up with them since I was little, so I like them partly out of nostalgia, and partly because they are just a good, fun band to listen to and it's a nice break from all the serious, conceptual stuff I normally listen to.

While not directly related to this thread, I thought I'd mention that I *love* checking out old episodes of the Ed Sullivan Show. Damn he had some amazing bands on there... Doors, the Stones... Its just awesome seeing those bands on there in their beginnings. Id recommend anyone to hire a DVD of it if you can find one.
