Rocording DI?

Ok i have read alot of info but need help still. Can you record DI tracks like :

GTR-Direct dox-sound card.

Or do you need a pre amp for proper sound? (for future re-amp). Totally confused about this.

Also do i use the soundcards line in or mic?

I'll just say this. I'm sure you could use you PC soundcard, but if you are even entertaining the thought of getting into reamping, I thinks it's time you saved a few bucks up and get a real interface.
