Any fans of this Czech band amongst Royal Carnage? I have heard some songs and they seem to be all over the place but always very good. I am expecting The Book, The Black Seal, and Kargeras from a trade, in the mail, anyday now. All the reviews I have read seem great as well. Any input?

I'm looking forward to listening to these releases.

I used to listen to "temple in the underworld" quite a bit.. it RULES

don't think I've ever heard any others, but I'm sure I would enjoy doing so.

Temple is harsh voice, but not too harsh. Kargeras is fairly buccolic, would you say?

I don't think I've ever really made that association with a heavy metal album before. That's what I listen to folk for, I guess!

I've read a turbulent interview with ROOT in an old edition of LotFP...never heard a single track, however. I haven't heard much else about them, but whenever I do it's always in a positive light -- but talk about being "underground".

All I have to say is The Seal is fucking AWESOME!!!! I can see most on this board, especially Erik and maybe J. digging this.

.....and JK and Ellestin

From Metal Archives.com:
Genre(s): Black Metal, Dark Epic Heavy Metal

"Root was one of the original pre-second-wave black metal bands, following in the footsteps of Bathory and Venom, while taking the genre in a more refined, less savage direction. Their style has since progressed towards a more epic, dark heavy metal sound with a clean-sung vocal approach, but their music can still be recognised as black metal at its core due to the unchanged ideology of the band."

Why exactly wouldn't I like this?
