Rotting Christ is currently on The Unholy Trinity Tour with Behemoth and Satyricon. The Greek black metal icons were in a car accident driving from their show in Berlin, Germany to Zurich, Switzerland. The band is “all safe” and “stronger than ever” after the accident.

A statement reads:

“ATTENTION! To all our friends out there asking if we are ok after the serious car accident we had yesterday night in Germany, we can ensure them that we are all safe and in one piece and stronger than ever [to] continue with the Unholy Trinity tour giving our best every night in one of the greatest tour we have ever participated! See you on the road and remember…What doesn’t kill us make us stronger!”

Rotting Christ are celebrating their 35th anniversary by releasing a new live album. This two-hour set was recorded at the Lycabettus Hill Theater in the band’s hometown of Athens. Like a pantheon, it spans their entire career, from the chiseled monuments of their modern Hellenic period to their early evil classics.

Rotting Christ have stood the test of time for over three decades. From their humble beginnings on Satanas Tedeum & Passage to Arcturo in the early 90’s, the genesis of their ‘Hellenic’ melodic black metal sound in the 2000’s with Sanctus Diavolos & Theogonia, all the way to their later masterpieces Rituals & The Heretics, released through Season of Mist – Rotting Christ are a force of their own.

The true strength of Rotting Christ lies not only in their discography, however. The Tolis brothers bring with them an unmatched energy across international stages, performing over hundreds of shows in 2024.

Celebrating their 35 year existence, Rotting Christ culminated their performances with a one-of-a-kind showcase of their discography at the Lycabettus Hill Theater in Athens, Greece – the band’s hometown. A two-hour long, career-spanning set with long-time classics from their early days dabbling in the rougher Rotting Christ sound, to the newer, ‘Hellenic’ anthems such as “The Raven” or “Demonon Vrosis”.

On 35 Years Of Evil Existence – Live In Lycabettus, Rotting Christ show what they do best – and captured this in a high-quality recording, immortalizing this once-in-a-lifetime performance.

35 Years Of Evil Existence – Live In Lycabettus is out now via Season Of Mist. Order/save the album here, and find a full audio stream below.
