I picked up their post D.C. Cooper album and wasn't impressed...
I read where they have a new album coming out with Marc Boals on vocals?!

I've been a RH fan for a long time...and I really liked John West on vocals. Boals might work well...the Yngwie Trilogy album he did vocals on slays.

I've got a few Royal Hunt cds but rarely listen to them.... too much pop-metal for me without enough of an edge

personaly I love last cd Paper Blood and Paradox,on other cds I skip the softer tunes...

Personally I prefer West to Cooper and would also rate Paper Blood as the best West-album. I love Fear and Mission as well, Eye Witness is totally forgettable and the production sucks.

The 2006 live album is very good and there's a dvd also. Plenty of clips on Youtube.

Those new clips with Boals sound like classic Royal Hunt but then again, and this is not meant to take anything away from the excellent performances of West and Cooper, the secret Royal Hunt has always been André Andersen's unique keyboard overkill.

As goofy as this sounds, the mellow stuff DC does on his solo release is awesome live. RH is much more upbeat than DC solo, but it is still sorta light. It is not bad by any stretch, but not great either. DC Cooper did an acoustic set at a ProgPowerUSA pre=party one year and it probably was the third best acoustic performance I have ever seen only behind Damon Johnson (Brother Cane) and Sister Hazel.

Totally Bryant, i was there too and indeed what a great performance Tore from Ark/Conception and DC Cooper sounded like they have been playing acoustic forever.

I'm definitely a fan of the DC era RH..I prefer West with Artension, though, didn't much care for him with RH. Haven't heard any of the Boals-vox tunes yet..
